What I did notice missing is the application of the social structure. Getting backlinks (especially one-way) from the "upper caste sites" so to speak should play a factor in the rankings, and so should the "who you know" factor.
I would suggest trying to hobnob (be friendly with, talk to, chat with, communicate) with the "elite" in the baidu chain – at least online – and see if you can get any help there.
Find out what it takes to serve the Chinese people the best according to the Government, and use those standards as a guideline.
Other than that, I think you did a really good job on your blog post.
