full sail or musician’s institute? or any other colleges/universities with good music buisiness programs?
Full Sail seems perfect for what I want to do, which is "music business" (working with bands or at a record label). I have heard terrible things about Full Sail, though. Is the school really as bad as some people say? People have said it’s a complete waste of time and too expensive, and that the school doesn’t do anything for career placement. According to their website, it seems great, but I can’t forget what else I’ve read…
Also, does the Musician’s Institute in California have a good music business program? I haven’t really looked into them much.
Which one would be the wiser choice to attend?
Or, what other colleges or universities have what I’m looking for?
anyone else..what do you have to say about Columbia College in Chicago? I checked it out because of one of the answers and I’m in love. It seems legit…I think it would be great. any opinions? people who have gone there?

Howdy.
Here are a bunch you might wish to check out:

Chicago is indeed a great one. Also, SIU Carbondale (my alma mater), NYU, Mike Curb in Nashville, Miami and Berklee are wonderful.
Good luck!

berkle school of music.
my friend is working on vochal production there and is loving it
When I was trying to figure out where I wanted to go to school/what I wanted to do, http://www.collegeboard.com was my best friend. You can do a college search thing, like for example: Search for colleges in–> Northeastern USA–>with majors in Music Business and it will give you a list that you can compare and stuff.
Also, I know Towson University in MD has a great music program.
My friend goes to Baldwin-Wallace and loves it.
Oh, and if all else fails you can go to any major public University and double major in Music AND Business, or even design your own major. You have a ton of options, and to be honest, I’m not real convinced by Full Sail’s accreditation’s.
One word: http://www.collegeboard.com.
michigan state has some great music programs, particularly the music therapy major. but heck if i know what that even is
A friend of mine is doing the same exact thing that you are. She moved all the way to Chicago to go to Columbia.
