Ultimately, you have to pay to do that. You can go to google and you can choose the keywords that will be associated with your web site. You pay something like $0.50 a click depending on the keywords you choose.
Each search engine has there own.
If you don’t want to pay, then you can do some other stuff.
Add RSS feeds.
Add meta data to your web pages.
Add a site map.
All of these allow Google and other search engines to categorise your web site better.
