Starting a blog is pretty easy. Blogger, owned by google is a free blogging platform that is easy to use. instructions on how to set up a blogger blog at http://www.affiliatemarketingintro.com/Create-blog.html
The importance of blogging is to try and build a reputation and web presence for it. This involves adding posts frequently and getting backlinks from other sites
With regards to Adsense, it is a google service where they place ads on your website and you get paid a small amount of money if someone clicks on the ads. I don’t think you can use adsense to get added to the search engines
You could advertise you site through adwords which s google’s ad serving program but it will cost you some money
Getting indexed in the search engines with a blogger blog does not take a long time
