- From your description, you must live in DC suburbs. If you would be interested in the credit industry. I will give you a job site. I retired from there & they are great to work for, good pay, great benefits. Go to navyfederal.org & click careers. They are the world’s largest credit union and are headquartered in Vienna, VA. They have openings all around DC area. Recommend you apply for member service representative or mortgage collections. If you need any help e mail me, I retired from there two years ago.
- Since you’re a recent grad, I’d recommend expanding your search and being willing to relocate, but it sounds like you’re stuck if you’re pursuing a Master’s.
Look for jobs that require a degree, but aren’t specific. Many people care more about your intelligence and willingness to learn than any specific coursework. Talk to your professors about getting an internship or entry-level job. Join LinkedIn and network, network, network. I got a job through the son of a guy who lived in the same retirement home as my grandmother.
Meanwhile, build your portfolio any way you can – do volunteer work, make fake campaigns for existing products, help a friend organize an event.
DO NOT rely on search engines. The best jobs never make it to the classifieds or monster.com, they are word-of-mouth, someone leaving the company, open and shut job openings, so you need to work directly with companies that interest you. Pick five, research them thoroughly, and find out who has the job you want – ask to meet with them and talk about how they got into the industry, what they recommend, other companies where they have worked or know people.
Make your resume stand out, and create a *good* website as well. Hand out business cards (get them at any print shop) eveywhere you go. Tell family and friends that you’re on the market and what types of jobs interest you.
- The poster above has great advice. There are a lot of fields out there depending on what you want to do.
I am a job coach and can help you get a job that suits you. I have a free offer at the moment for one-on-one coaching so feel free to check it out if you like. - You would be wasting your time looking for a job via the Internet. You would be better off signing onto an office headhunter such as appleone.com or voit.com who have a virtual monopoly in the field of temp office work.
Good luck!

- What is your of Google and its operations in China ?
While I thought it was wrong of Google to give in to China’s demands, Yahoo is much more notorious for doing the same thing. As far as Google, I think it’s cool that they are standing up to them now. But I think they will bend eventually and go back to censoring.

Google fails as a search engine and cares about nothing but it’s own profits.
google filters search results to favor its best customers.
Here is a chinese search engine I always use that puts google to shame,it filters nothing.

I should imagine that all search engines are global and so if the chinese want to use them they can. I don’t use Google at all and never have. the government in China are at the moment only thinking about closing google that was on the news this morning. - Need info on J.B. Lippincott & Co. of Phila., PA Bibles made around 1850's?
From 1792 to 1978, JB Lippincott was one of the largest publishers in the English-speaking world. If there is no date on the bible, you would be able to date it only from any inscriptions. Unless perhaps the present owners of JB Lippincott have some kind of record.
1978 – Harper & Row acquires J.B. Lippincott
1990 – Wolters Kluwer acquires J.B. Lippincott
1993 – Wolters Kluwer acquires Raven Publishers and merges them with J.B. Lippincott to form Lippincott-Raven
1998 – Wolters Kluwer acquires Williams & Wilkins and forms LWW http://www.lww.com/The Antiques Roadshow says they see billions of bibles and they are of value only as family treasures. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/roadshow/tips/worthless/index.html
A safety deposit box may be too warm to preserve a book properly. Recent news articles on the "Judas Diaries" say how they were preserved for hundreds of years in the desert and began deteriorating immediately when they were put in a safety-deposit box.
- Increase ebay traffic to my ebay shoes store how to?
Hello Joseph C – you want as many people as you can coming to your store. Do you have a blog? Are you on FaceBook, Linkedin or Plaxo? Do you have a Twitter account? These are all ways to get the word out about your store and attaching a link so people can easily come to your store. Also post to the Free Ads sites, go to forums and discuss with others about being noticed – don’t ever try to ’sell’ to anyone as that is considered spamming. You want to brand yourself, then your product and people will get to know you and will want to see what you have to offer. Hope that makes sense and gives you ideas of what you can do to drive traffic. My website offers other free marketing information – article writing is another great way to get backlinks for your store. Good luck and much success to you!
