Statisticaly, where do people look for a financial adivisor? i.e. web, phonebook, word of mouth?
I am a Financial Advisor who wants to grow my business. To most efficently market myself, I need to know where people go to find guys like me. Do they just turn to F in the phonebook, type in IRA in the yahoo search engine? What do you think?

My financial adviser I got by word of mouth. My whole family (brother, parents, aunt, etc.) use him. I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable picking someone out of the F’s in the yellow pages.
I would never go with a financial advisor unless I had an endorsement from a friend or associate.
Grow your business by asking your clients to be source of reference for you potential clients.
If you advertise on the web or elsewhere the only info that would be creditable is the rate of return you have generated for your clients and then you should have client permission for potential clients to access them for verification.
