Does anyone know where online I can find cell phone numbers for the sales prospects I call on each day? I am a cold calling telephone sales rep. Each call consist of greeting the gatekeeper, asking who is in charge of ordering the supplies, chemicals, small equipment etc.. If I am lucky, I will atleast get a name. My problem is that when I do finally get my contact on the phone and sell him, I am only half way through. All orders must be confirmed . Eighty percent of my sales come from employees who do not sit at a desk.These men and women are never in the same place for too long. So, without there cell phone number, the chances of each deal getting confirmed by the order desk in a timely manner decreases immensely. Now, obviously I do get a small majority of clients who have no problem giving me there cell #. Also, I do ask every secretary, admin assistant, and what I usually refer to as the gatekeeper but lets face it, there job is to keep me the salesman from taking there time up as well as sell them anything. Of course I love it when my extension rings and one of my steady clients needs to place an order but thats one out of 100. If there are any marketing professionals, social media experts, or anyone that can hopefully toss out some ideas that could help me I would highly appreciate it. Lastly, my list of possible online sites so far consist of Facebook, Myspace, Google, Yahoo, Pipl, and Bing. I know there are many more but I am at a stand still. I already work 40 hours a week dialing numbers so spending another 6 hours at night seems crazy but I want to succeed so bad I am dreaming about it. Think I am going to snap soon. lol. I know that there was a law trying to get passed that would allow telemarketers to look up personal cell phone numbers and to be honest, I am so happy it failed. I already get enough calls each night either during dinner or getting my 3 children, ages 2, 4, and 5 1/2 to bed so I can clean up the house before my wife gets home from her 3 to 11:00 shift. Not feeling sorry for myself, just trying to figure out why one, or two children wasnt enough. Ha ha. If anyone knows of a site that does a good search or has a sizeable database of cell numbers let me know. I am already prepared to pay money to join a site or two. Seems all the free sites are never really free. Thanks again.

Once again, you have to wonder; what do Republicans have against those who have served our country? This bill would reauthorize programs in support of homeless veterans, to assist them with job training, counseling, and placement services through the Department of Veterans Affairs through 2014. Perhaps they think of “troops” the same way they think of “fetuses”; we should “honor” them while they’re fighting unnecessary wars, but forget them the minute they leave the service? They have also blocked H.R. 1172 — Requiring List on VA Website of Organizations Providing Scholarships for Veterans which does nothing more than direct the Department of Veterans Affairs to include information about scholarships for veterans. Why do Republicans hate the troops once they come home?
It passed the Democratically held house last congress but Republicans in the Senate filibustered.

Hi,
Im 18…almost 19, and I dont have that much work experience.
I am currently trying to save up to travel Europe (or as much of it that I can), as I know that whilst travelling you learn a lot about yourself and develop in so many ways, so It would be perfect and smart for me to do this. (once I come back, I should know what I want to do (hopefully)).

However…I need a job to do this! I have just left my job as there were some serious personal problems there which I wont go into. I was there for a total of 3 months, and it was as bar staff; this included, waitressing, working behind the bar, and sometimes cloakroom. Sometimes it was challenging, but most of all I found it fun!
I also have 2 weeks work experience in office based work at the DTI, where I did general office duties; answering phones, faxing, admin, data entry, arranging mettings, etc.
As well as another 2 week work placement for a Yacht Magazine (which required extensive research for me as I knew NOTHING about yachts), here I had to proofread, write articles which I then submitted onto the companies website, as well as data entry and research.

To be honest…I’m not sure what to do! All I know is…my goal is to travel. How I get the money, Im not sure. Do I do bar work which I enjoy and gain tips? Do I work again in office work, so I have a foot in the working ladder for when i return (as I want an officey based job when I come back). Or do I go straight to working abroad and travelling whilst I earn with one of those ‘work abroad schemes’? I also have a very strong interest in writing and I have an A level In English Literature, however I dont know if theres any jobs I can do with this or if it would even be of use. I have NO idea, and no idea how to go about it!

Please help, or offer me ANY advice. Truth be told, I just want to travel and get money asap for it.

I registered a site .tv and .co but Yahoo search engines can not find it. But Google does a fantastic job (what I expect).

Then I hear I have to pay for Yahoo search placement for websites. And I am appalled that they want me to pay for search engine placement. I do not hate Yahoo. But I honestly prefer Google over yahoo 99%. Me asking is the 1% for asking why does yahoo suck?

And 100% of finding why Yahoo Search Sucks is always – well because they do. I dont commonly like to pay for any advertising of something which I would prefer to be free.

I went for the presentation of my boss today (to help him to set up presentation hehehe..yes he doesn’t know powerpoint)…..it was fun…we was describing to the "customer" (top in the country…takes fees £12k per yr) how he increases the wages the staff accordingly performance (he didn’t increase any wage to staff who works in the company for past 3yrs) and give them training (depends who) I work there 1 1/2 we communicate on daily basis and he keeps asking me my age…(I hope that he thinks I look younger…!!???!..)

Every time when I ask for pay rise he stop to talk to me for 3months…all communication is via another staff in that time lol…..the most funnies thing is how he everywhere says how I put up the company (I’m in internet business) which is a true traffic on the website is 200% than before……I’m just interested what’d you do such person ?
I have a few job offers….I’m thinking which one…I hate this as I really showed commitment

Okay, this may be a bit much, but I would very much like to study in England. Firstly, I live in the U.S., and attend public school. I am quite "smart", most say. I am enrolled in Advanced Placement classes. I am doing great in there. In all of my AP classes, I score a 4 or 5. My GPA is currently 3.9. I want to live in Southampton, and attend the University of Southampton. I want to live at the university, and maybe get a job, if I can. Is that university very prestigious, or difficult to be accepted into? I was reading their website about entry requirements and international students, but it didn’t clarify much. It said things about "A Levels" and "IBs". What are those exactly? I’m not sure we have "A Levels" in the U.S., do we? Or is there an equivalent that would qualify? IBs are International Baccalaureates, yes? Also about fees and money, I have some money to help me get by over there, but will I be able to work while attending university to make money? If I like it enough there, I was considering trying to become a British citizen. Please be very detailed and tell EXACTLY what I’ll need to do. I’ve asked two other questions about this same thing, but haven’t gotten a decent answer. Please, help me. Thank you. :)
Oh, there’s something I forgot to mention. After I’m there for 5 years for study, I can apply for citizenship through "naturalization", correct? I was reading the UK Border Agency website, and it said the cost of applying for naturalization was £836, which would be about 54.32 if my math is correct. What would be the reasons for my application to not be approved?
ANOTHER EDIT: My main concern NOW is about the A Levels and IBs. Please give me information about those.

I have been looking for work intensely for months. I have sent my resume out to every organization I want to work with, over 42, by mail. I have e-mailed and mailed my cover letter and resume to every job ad i am qualified for and ones I am not qualified for. I have started a website, I have started a twitter account to follow the organizations that I want to work with and they just say things like "Good luck with your application"…that is not helping me network! I am taking initaitve and it is not being recognized!!

Then, my friend, got a call for a position where 1)I am more qualified, 2) I have a contact there that I e-mail almost weekly to see if there are any openings, and I work for them seasonally and am good with her, 3) His cover letter and resume were total crap!

His cover letter was unprofessional and not in business format. It started with Dear Prospective Employer: ….and my volunteer jobs that I did free of charge.

No date. Arrogance. No professionalism.

His resume also listed things he did in high school, which have little relevance. A student placement. And one relief position.

It listed his high school.

Where my resume and cover letter are mint! I have had all my previous supervisors review and edit it for me and I am convinced it is gold.

How could his crap cover letter and resume get him a job, much less get him the interview? Has anyone else heard of this happening?

First, I understand that this sound arrogant so let me do this.

Disabled: 20 years paraplegic, walking but not well.
Broke: I have been trying not to take advantage of a system that I have little respect for, but lost my job 4 months ago. Not physically suited to much, and lacking documented education.
Highly intelligent: tested 11 out of 12 years of school to be of higher intelligence than 95 percent of the schools I attended. Special placement for "gifted kids" until I moved to a state my senior year that didn’t have such a program.

Here’s my question: I have been developing a concept for a website for several years. I have recently found that another company has started something similar but does not exploit the full opportunity available, but they Just got M in funding. There is only one competitor to that sight right now doing things slightly differently, but they are off to a slow start, and seem kind of half in. And, there have been 2 other companies that both went broke in earlier days of the internet seemingly doing something similar. The 2 from the past are harder to research but it seems they both spent way too much money on advertising and not enough on the business of the business. How do I protect the idea and find somebody to develope an actual representation of the full site with all of it’s intricasies when I don’t have any money?

Unfortunately I have never written a business plan and find it rather intimidating, but I can justify and explain every little nuance, from the business, to the backend, to the marketing and the execution. It seems that one of the dead companies may have patented parts of its’ process, and this too may be an issue, but phone calls and research thus far all have led to the need to spend money I just don’t have. I’m not affraid to share, and I am truly not greedy, but I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag to be snatched and made into some foreign meal.

Has anybody out here had experience with situations like this? Can you help? Looking for an investment?

Please allow me to be clear. I don’t have the knowledge or experience to create this site myself. I am an idea guy, and am looking to find out how to execute. I don’t have 20 years to aquire all the needed knowledge that others already have specialized in, and need to employ / partner with the needed skills to get this done.

Note: I am looking into going back on disability, and filing bankruptcy. Though until 4 months ago I had very good credit, right now that is shot and recovery must be quick or I will be forced to start all over. I would much rather pay my debts and move on with my life with dignity and self-respect if I can find any way to do so.

I’m a laid off professional in my early 40s. I very close to being accepted into a "career change" program in a neighboring state. The program involves a few months of intense daily training, then you usually get a job (no guarantee, but they have a very good placement record). It is far away enough to involve relocating.

I am currently on partial unemployment while doing p/t consulting. The consulting would end if/when I join this program as I would not have time for it (location wouldn’t matter as I do most of the consulting virtually).

I had a couple of questions that I hope someone out there knows:

1) Does the Federal government offer any grants to help pay for these programs and for your living expenses during that time.

2) Would I lose my unemployment compensation?

3) Would my state offer any grants to help pay for the career training? Or would they require it to occur in the same state? My current state is NY and I have tried to contact them about this but they are very bureaucratic and overwhelmed and their website wasn’t clear on it.

Any thoughts would be really helpful, thanks.

I’ve been offered a placement with a major pharmaceutical company which starts next year. I got the call around two months ago that I was successful and have just recently signed the contract and done all the paper work. However, I was on the company website yesterday and I noticed they put a post up the day before advertising the exact position that I’ve already been allocated for! Why would they do this? Is it legal for them to give the job to someone else after I’ve signed the contract?
I’m really worried about this, had anybody been in a similar situation?

I plan to RELOCATE to Weatherford next summer (2012) if everything falls into place. The thing is that I’m a single mom and need to get the IN court’s OK and his Dad’s OK as well. I need an address, phone number and job to move.

i did not meet anyone online. i have friends in breckenridge and other parts of tx. my g-parents lived in san antonio (which is too south, too hot). anyway, i live in a small-ish town now and love the small town feel (but walmart, target, mcd’s are all very close). This is what i want. i asked my firneds and they suggested weatherford or mineral wells. since there is more in weatherford, i chose weatherford. plus, i like the stats in regards to violence, theft, schooling, etc…

so i found about this programme at monsterjob.com and i called that guy and he said that i will have to pay about 7000$ american including my tution fee, health insurance, accomodation, student permit and he said after 3 months i will be getting paid 500 euros a month and after 6 month i will be getting paid 1500 euros a month working on the cruise ship on an year or 2 contract, well when i went to the official website it only says about the programme but it dont say that after i get done with the training center i will get a job except in one corner where it talks about internship and cruise ship placement….pls help me if its a scam or for real cos i will be borrowing all the money from my friends and i ll have to pay them back in 5 months, i am 20 years old….and i really have no clue what should i do….

www.WhenMagazine.com is going through some re-design, etc. I checked up on the google analytics just now, and it shows that our new Advertising Rep has been doing her job, because we have had a 19% INCREASE in web traffic to the site. At one time, a year back, we were more popular and had 15,000 page hits in one month. (The 500-1000 that I speak of are Website Visits – NOT Page Visits. They are much more!) … Please tell me what you think of these stats and if they are worth mentioning to other businesses and websites (for advertising deals)???
