I started a website sometime in the past year, and I have worked ages on the design and the content and it has a forum and a chatroom. But it simply gets no views. I have googled around for a few months now on how to increase the flow of trffic your website gets and its all the same: "post on forums", "submit your site to major search engines", "build backlinks", "meta tags" etc.. I have done all of these again and again and it really doesn’t seem to be working.

I have recently created an account with LinkRefferal and this seems to help a bit, but it still isn’t getting me the views I need/deserve.

If you want to have a look at my site here it is:

Please Help,

Thanks in advance,

Joe

I have a store on Bonanza.com – it’s free until I sell something and then obviously they take a cut. The up side is that the site charges less money for fees and listing than Fee-Bay. But the very big downside is that they do little or no advertising. So I am not sure how to increase traffic. I’ve advertised a little on Craigslist but that is complicated. I made a URL on Godaddy for the page. I’ve advertised on Twitter. I am just uncertain because it’s not exactly a website. Any help would be appreciated. The most helpful and in depth answer gets 10pts. Here is the page http://www.cdsdvdsandstuff.com Thanks.
Some of the ideas given are helpful. However, I can’t change the meta tags for my store because it is part of Bonaza.com. There are some things that I could do to a personal website that I can’t do with my E-store. If someone could help me sort those differences out it would be great.

Hey Guys,
I am planning to redesign my website ( 1100+ Pages) which is doing good on search engines and is getting good traffic. My only concern is if i do that keeping in mind all the link placement and everything. Still can rank fall on google??

I thought one solution for this let me know if that will work –

Will launch new page with same domain name but with different extension say .info and with new title, keywords and description in meta tags plus will modify on page content too except dynamic part of the site. Once that new page is crawled by google will replace old one with new one on main hosting.. Hows it sounding and yes I did lot of optimization for current page..
So please suggest me best possible way of gaining more rank with new page rather thn loosing it

I just recieved an email from a SEO company yesterday

They offer to prepare pages in many languages , so people will reach them in their own google page (fr de br etc..)

I sell my products to all world, and my website is english

so he say that if we make just 1 page for each different languages they will read our article in their language and use site in english
probably character set, meta tags and article will be in another language, but if they wanna use site, they will click english links, or they just will click 1 link to pass my site

what do u think?
@penguin

the cost? I am thinking to do it myself
it will just spend time for that
I hope it worth

I know that Meta tags are pretty much worthless anymore, and engines crawl for content, but my site has lots of images and not lots of text. What should i focus on to get it ranked better so I can increase traffic?

I am about to launch my new website in 4 days and I was wondering what are the most effective ways to get users/visitors without spending marketing dollars?

Things I have on my list:

1- SEO (search engine optimization): Title, Meta tags, descriptions
etc.
2- Addthis.com button to share it on other websites
3- "How my website works" on youtube plus keywords there.

What are other ways to quickly get visitors?

Also in terms of selling banner ads on my website, how many visitors do I need to get in order to do this? Even if I get enough how do I have to approach companies to advertise on my website. Lets say I want to put only 1 banner on my website for advertising (exclusive), how do I have to negotiate the price for this? Is it based on the number of users ?

Thanks very much.

We recently had someone create our website and I’m not sure how to drive traffic to it. If someone has a minute look at our site as far as meta tags and backpage source info and let me know if they set this site up correctly.

www.cseGraphicOutfitters.com

Is there something we are missing? Is there something we can do to increase web traffic without spending thousands of dollars?

Any help is appreciated
For some reason the default was set up for vehicles. Thx

Looking for good advice, and possibly website/article links about improving my search engine placement and page ranks. I’ve already got descriptive meta tags on all my pages, descriptive alt tags on my images, clean code, and a good site map with text links to all pages on the site.

Anything more I can do? Anyone have some great tomes of knowledge regarding the subject that they could link to?

I have a small home business and created a website to offer products. I am looking for a great way to promote it and get additional business.
I have already used GOOGLE adwords and Yahoo’s similiar ad campaigns. Both can be extremely expensive as you have to bid for placement.
I have set up meta tags and come up decently in regular searches at times.
I want something that brings people to my site and really get me some business. Thanks to all who can help!

I have my website set up with an entrance page because it shows a bit of adult content. The problem is.. I have all my meta tags (keywords, title, description, etc) set up but when I go to a meta tag analyzer to see if my site is search engine friendly I get very low results because my entrance page doesn’t have barely anything on it. If i type in the exact address of a different page on my site -such as my products -it’s a whole lot better. But, I dont understand how robots and search engines work this. Will they go through and see the rest of my site -keywords and such.. or is it more based on just the first page? What’s the best way to accomplish a high site ranking/listing with this type of setup?

Hi Everyone,

I have a new website ( http://www.thelowprice.com ). I have added it to the major search engines, but it doesn’t come up in any of the searches. Only if you search for "thelowprice.com" will it come up. I have added META Tags for Title, Description, and Keywords, but it doesn’t seem to be helping much.

I don’t really have much to spend as far as marketing the site via ads, etc, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

DealMan – http://www.thelowprice.com

I remember back in the "olden days" of search engine optimization, it was mostly about the keywords in your META tags. Now, that clearly is not enough. I’m curious what I can do to optimizes search engine placement without paying thousands of dollars for someone else to do it for me. What are those people doing to get top placement?
