I have had a website for a few weeks, yet I am not getting a lot of visitors. How can I increase the traffic without paying a lot of money?

Hi! I am desperate! I need this fixed ASAP!

Situation:

i own a an auction website…this is a penny acution, in this website there are on auction hot items such as iPhones, iMacs, TVs, videogames etc…this is how it works…Users buy a bunch of bids, they cost 50 cents each, and every time that a bid is placed, the price of the item increases of 1 cent and adds 10 seconds to the end of the auction, the items have NO minimum price…

Problem:

….Everything was running well till yesterday, since yesterday the script started acting up…it will make the auction end as soon as an user reaches about 200 bids placed, using the bidbutler or not! NO MATTER WHAT! I Even if there are other users still bidding! This means selling products at prices that do not even reach what i pay for them ! I REALLY REALL REALLY REALLY need this to be fixed asap! Yesterday i sold an iPhone for , an iMac for and a Sony Bravia 52" for !!! And i don’t even want to mention the other items! I have to ship these items and i cannot take the website down or claim "technical issues" because it’ll mean BAD REVIEWS, so losing customers and business, and i am VERY precise about my business! And the night is coming, the users will reach that target quicker, because of the low traffic!

I lost over 4K between last night and today giving away all these items for such a low prices!

My point is that everywhere i go, for example getafreelancer.com, i get tons of people that want to fix it for me, but they ask money upfront and then who knows if they’ll even touch the script? Is there any guarantee i can get before to give my ftp informations to a stranger?I really need to get this fixed asap!

answer 1: ALL freelancers will ask for payment OUT of GAF…Most likely western union….and all also ask an upfront payment to start to work…so i will eventually lose money and ftp informations under high risk…

Every time I visit http://www.adoptuskids.org website… I want to grab em all as my own. I think it’s time that I start doing some real homework as I know it’s not an overnight decision or a quick process. Im mostly interested in the older kids. Age 11+ really. I’m done with Dora the Explorer.

So what’s the process like to become a foster parent? (who is open to adoption btw). I know some do it for money, but honestly, I’d be paid plenty just to give these kids a real shot at a normal love with a loving family. Are most of the kids special needs kids? I can manage the expected emotional and re-direction needs, but im not so comfortable with the physical. i.e wheelchairs, bed ridden, mental retardation. etc.

I’ve hosted exchange students in the past, and it was an awesome experience. I love my exchange daughters as much as I love my own. But this is different. The girls on exchange are usually exceptionally bright, and outgoing to make it into the program. I would almost think foster children to be the opposite. But I have nothing to base this on.

If your a foster parent — i’d love to hear your experience. If your not, but have an opinion about it (good or bad..Im open), Id love to hear that too.

How does it work? Is it always temporary placements?

I have a website running for a year now and having an average of 450 visitors daily. I checked my page ranked and google says it is unranked which makes me wonder why or is there something missing in order for my site to get ranked. What are the effective and best way to get a good Page rank, and the efficient way to increase my traffic to earn a lot more rather than earning $.05 to $.10 a day per impressions (CPM). As we all know you will not earn money if you don’t have good traffic. Tips and real advices will be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I am considering taking TEFL and teaching overseas, mainly because of my love for travelling. But I want to know more, for example:

1) My nationality is Taiwanese, and usually needs visa to most countries. So does my nationality affect my chances of getting job placements in various countries?

2) Which websites or sources should I use to look for job placements? And how easy is it to look for teaching jobs?

3) Does it matter if I do the course online from a website that promises faster completion? Or should I do it through British Council for example.

4) The most practical side of it –> money… Will it be reasonably paid so I can save up and do other things in future?

I am on a tight budget now, so don’t really want to commit to a course that won’t help me in the long run. So please also explain a bit more if there is anything that I over looked.

I really would like to create an online business that will make me six or more figures a year. I have been researching a while, and have come up with some ideas but am not sure if any of the ideas could be profitable. 1 idea is a website where i sell office chairs that I get wholesale and dropship. I am not sure however if office chairs would be good to sell and be profitable. What do you think?

Another idea is to make a website where people buy, trade, and sell gift card for cash. I make money from charging small fee to succesful sales and placing ads on site. Do you think this could make me six or more figure a year?

Another idea could be a niche content site on the subject of songwriting. I would have lots of articles, reviews, and howtos on songwriting to get traffic to the site. would then put ads adsense and relevant affiliate products to make money. Even though this could make me some money, can it make me six or more figures a year?

The last idea probably wont work, but it is a site where users can submit orginal songs (which they have legal rights to) and other users can listen, rate, comment, and share songs with other user. There would be a chat room and a top 10 song list. I would make money from ads. The problem is i would cost me 5-10k to make the site and im not sure if I should spend that money on the site if i dont know that it could be profitable.

So i really like the office chair idea since i think it is the most profitable. Do you think office chairs are good to sell though? What should I sell online if office chairs arent profitable (please no ebooks or info products). What are you’re thoughts on the other ideas. I could possibaly run the office chair site and list some on ebay, aswell as the niche content site to really increase my income. Any ideas?

Okay, this may be a bit much, but I would very much like to study in England. Firstly, I live in the U.S., and attend public school. I am quite "smart", most say. I am enrolled in Advanced Placement classes. I am doing great in there. In all of my AP classes, I score a 4 or 5. My GPA is currently 3.9. I want to live in Southampton, and attend the University of Southampton. I want to live at the university, and maybe get a job, if I can. Is that university very prestigious, or difficult to be accepted into? I was reading their website about entry requirements and international students, but it didn’t clarify much. It said things about "A Levels" and "IBs". What are those exactly? I’m not sure we have "A Levels" in the U.S., do we? Or is there an equivalent that would qualify? IBs are International Baccalaureates, yes? Also about fees and money, I have some money to help me get by over there, but will I be able to work while attending university to make money? If I like it enough there, I was considering trying to become a British citizen. Please be very detailed and tell EXACTLY what I’ll need to do. I’ve asked two other questions about this same thing, but haven’t gotten a decent answer. Please, help me. Thank you. :)
Oh, there’s something I forgot to mention. After I’m there for 5 years for study, I can apply for citizenship through "naturalization", correct? I was reading the UK Border Agency website, and it said the cost of applying for naturalization was £836, which would be about 54.32 if my math is correct. What would be the reasons for my application to not be approved?
ANOTHER EDIT: My main concern NOW is about the A Levels and IBs. Please give me information about those.

I spose they might lose some viewers, but i don’t think it would make that much of a difference if the videos were posted after the show was on tv.

The wwe should put replays of the shows on wwe.com, because people will watch it for free weather they like it or not, and if it was on their own website then they’s get some money from advertising and increased traffic.

And if the shows were on wwe.com, everyone would watch it there because the video quality on wwe.com is FAR better than on youtube.

Ok I used to have an 8 gig 4th generation blue iPod Nano. Well let’s just say it suffered extensive water damage and doesn’t play any more. So I am thinking about getting a new iPod when I get more money which could be as soon as next week! Excited at the prospect of finally regaining my personal music player, I went to Apples website, and what do you know? They came out with a newer generation! However, this one is different. It has a camera, voice recorder, and speakers all built into it! And for the same price that a 4G was when I bought it, too! However, I read that the camera is of low quality and can interfere with listening to music because of it’s placement. It is also much cheaper to get a 4G, which I am just fine with. But the camera feature is just so exciting! So I would like to know from people who have the 5G Nano- is it worth the extra twenty or so dollars? Thanks!-JG
