Google like many Large multi national companies that were started in the USA wanted a share of the Chinese market and made a deal with China to censor search results in China.
Now that google has had a hackers attack from inside China they may leave the country *(I do not now the full story yet except that there was a hackers attack on google and google mail from inside china. I have not heard/read what google plans to do.)
I do not want this to influence your answer much but I really cut back on using google when they gave in to Chinas demads and started using the older search engines and portal like Yahoo.com

Is Yahoo operating in China?
Who else is ?
What do you thnk Google should do about this hacker attack incident ?
Is yahoo above the fray so to speak?
How about the other search engines & portals?

Dear Yahoo US head office,
C.C. President Yang(who born in Taiwan)

I am a Taiwanese (my name is Edward Wang), the same country as you President Yang and Yankee Pitcher Wang born at , I am telling that you are going to lose in Chinese Search Portal Market rapidly. YahooTaiwan is not a making big mistake in Taiwan and playing tricks..
Because Taiwan Yahoo only put websites who pay taiwan yahoo money only. Remove websites that does not pay but high reputation in Taiwan Internet.
So the Chinese key words search because unprecisely, and not accuracy.
Most of time , it shows very different with google, I compare with informations that I need. And compare almost everyday using many other search engines, actually I found it is two (Yahoo and Google).

Sometimes I put same Chinese key word in Yahoo US and Yahoo Taiwan to test who is more accuracy , then it shows big differently, only take a glance , I know Taiwan Yahoo is not accuracy, it is a mass of who pay money to TaiwanYahoo, but it is really not accuracy by regular. Internet is fair and just , and God is fair, it won’t last long in this situation.
it won’t allow the money greedy TaiwanYahoo to keep doing this.
The market is not balanced, because TaiwanYahoo is starting first, but it won’t last long, because many users can see that tricks.

US is hard to know real Chinese thinking, why ? Thinking the failure Ebay in Taiwan and Ebay in Taiwan, US head will never know what tricks Chinese play, I am telling US Yahoo, because TaiwanYahoo is not listening to many users , only notice and people who pays. Users turn search portal to google , but still use Yahoo other services. By business data records , TwYahoo seem to win in search engine.
Example,You can check www.taiwanflorist.com.tw is listed high rank in Alexa and Google , and also in US Yahoo, but is purposely moved out in TaiwanYahoo, it is originally listed in TaiwanYahoo for years , TwYahoo are playing a trick to US head.
they is set up a seduce to submit freely, after that TY got this data, they will check this site pay or not pay. If not pay , it is moved by manually. It is evil. Can you believe that ?

Of course, at least I can show you hundreds examples that TwYahoo is not accuracy in search.(If you are willing to pay me,kidding, I can show you thousands examples).

It is evil and will not last long , because Internet cannot be block. Users will go the right search.
Please check if you notice my letter.
My mail is : touchtaiwan@gmail.com

I’m doing some article marketing and came across a video of an article marketer who discussed two free websites that are really good for finding articles and information for research.

All you do once you get to the website is type your keyword(s) into the search box and it pulls up articles from all over the web for that particular keyword(s). It’s like an all-in-one type thing where every article (for the particular keyword you’ve typed into the search box) that’s listed in Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and all the other search engines will pop up.

For instance, if I type in the keyword "best vacuum cleaners", it will pull a complete list of nothing but articles from all of the search engines. I’ve been searching for hours trying to remember the websites and locate the sites that the guy mentioned in his video, but with no luck.

If anyone knows what websites I’m referring to, would you please help me out. This would be a very convenient and much quicker way to research related articles for my niche.

Just realized how brilliant of a marketing technique Yahoo Answers is…?
Yahoo has us yahoo’s working for them with out us even knowing it. Everytime we ask or answer a question we are basically giving them free data. Whether it’s from our own life or the 2 mins it took to google it, and it’s now all stocked pile neatly in Yahoo Answers wallet. When a similar question gets asked through other search engines Yahoo seems to pop up more and more, there fore bringing plenty of traffic there way. And that translates into cold hard cash. I like Yahoo Answers, but it just now dawned on me how brillant the Yahoo people are, they got us working for them. Just an observation.
Very true imisidro, I guess I have never really thought about all the other user generated sites. I do use my space, but I’m not much into the video sites like YouTube, my hubby is though. Wow were suckers aren’t we….lol I wonder how much money one should be making for donating such independant content such as this.
batwanda, who are you talking about, your comment wasn’t the brightest in the bunch, and hey, we all make typo’s, it’s life. Personally I like the whole dot dot dot thing….

It’s not the same search or marketing page every time. I have not tried to see, if the same happens with other search engines, like Google. I also haven’t had a chance to see, if it happens in IE and not just in Firefox.I have not been able to indentify anything in MSCONFIG or the Task Manager. I also seem to be getting pop-ups frequently while on Myspace when that never used to happen (pop-ups are blocked through FireFox). Thanks!
Oh, one frequent site it directs me to is a YouTube video of a "black card" trick (or so I remember, I’m at work right now).

In the early days of the www as we know it, how did Google take market share away from competitors like Yahoo!, Lycos, Web-crawler, Alta Vista, Netscape, Mamma, Ask Jeeves, etc etc. I’m sure there are several more. Seems that many offer several of the same hits – so how did Google emerge as leader?

Also are there any other search engines not as well heard of that offer any unique features as an alternative?

when I click search result after I do a seach with google, and I believe, other search engines, I am re-directed to some kind of marketing site instead of to the site in the search hit.

I have tried sbybot – nothing
mcafee – nothing
webroot spysweeper – nothing
supersntispware free – nothing
stopzilla (premium) – nothing
malwarebyte ant-malware free – nothing
smitfraudfix – nothing
avira av free – nothing (s/ I pony up for the premium to get the spyware part of the product ? it is worth it to me)
i am using firefox. not sure if I have that Noscript thing set.
I went to http://noscript.net/?ver=1.9.0.8&prev=

and clicked it and installed it. After going out of firefox and back in, I have my search results back. I see why this was product of the year in 2006. thanks, ya guy.
