Twice in the past week I have posted a question regarding Yahoo!’s liberal bias, and in both cases my account was deleted. Is this really what Yahoo! thinks is going to get them on top of the search engine market? I have already made the switch to Google and will be blocking Yahoo!’s site from all of our company computers. I sure hope others will wake up and join me. By the way Yahoo!, this is a question. I am asking why you refuse to be fair, and why you choose to delete the accounts of those who disagree with your point of view.

I don’t work for Yahoo! or have any tangible stake in the company, however, everyone is always talking about ‘Googling’ this or that and I don’t understand why. Google’s homepage is devoid of any information or services that would make me even consider using it as a search engine. When I come to Yahoo’s home page, it knows who I am, tells me I have new mail, shows me the news, and provides me with feature stories among other things. Furthermore, Yahoo and Google both take the same amount of time to load. On a personal note, I think Google looks like a novice high schooler designed it, while Yahoo could do without the shameless amount of advertising on its home and My Yahoo pages.
Further confusing me is that Yahoo is the most visited domain on the internet, yet Google controls over 60% of the search engine market. Are people actually using Yahoo for its services and then going to Google to search? I really don’t get it…

I am writing a collage term paper on wether or no Google’s dominance over the search engine market is good for the end user. If you have anything that you can give to me on your experiences, please do so. Thank you.

Can anyone give me recent data on the search engine market in either taiwan or honk kong? I have found data, but it’s all years old. I want to advertise in these markets, but want data on the current shares for the leading search engines like Yahoo and Google…
