I’ve always wondered–how does search engine marketing work? You know, those companies like idealpositions.com that are able to get your site to the #1 spot within top search engines like Google.
Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks
The only two options for my business in big advertising was the yellow pages, and a website. I have the website up, have search engine marketing (where my business shows up high on the list), and am in the yellow pages. The book was being delivered before Thanksgiving, through January. It may seem as though i’m being impatient, however it’s difficult to be patient when you aren’t getting any calls. I reside in Orlando, Florida, and i’m not sure if this is an off season or what because of the holidays. Any advice on what I should do?
I forgot to add that it is a tile and grout restoration business.

Hi I am having an issue that you all may be able to help me with. I have a company that is more focused into the Search Engine Marketing and/or Optimization and I focus on small/medium sized business as the targets. My issue is that many of the smaller ones want a site done in addition to this (Which we can do but don’t always have the time, and they have smaller budgets which makes it even harder). How do you think we should handle these sites. People want to be satisfied as well as have a good price that is affordable to them.
Thank You Very Much for your Answers
I have a university degree in Computer Science, and have been doing an SEM (Search Engine Marketing) job for the past 3 years, but now I feel somehow bored by it (plus, in the area where I live, the SEM jobs don’t pay that high anyway), and would like to change direction.
I’m thinking of doing something else in the IT world too, but not too sure what to do? I don’t mind doing anything, with the exception of programming (my brain is just not made for it), and web design (I have no artistic talent at all). Looking for something with annual pay range of around K to K. What about QA (Quality Assurance) or networking? Are they good?
Any recommendations? =)
Thanks!
Hello,
I am am 17, and I would like to get a few credit cards. Not to buy things, but to grow my business.
I do Search Engine Marketing, and I need all the money I can get to get my business going. I can just pay for all expenses from my personal funds, they don’t need to know I am using it for a company.
I would like to get my credit going, but I would not know how to to do this. My mother has 2 credit cards, and her credit score is 800, perfect.
Would it be a good idea to add me to her credit cards, and bank account so I can get her perfect credit? From there, I would apply for a credit card myself?
Now.. I would like a credit card that I would be 100% liable for under all circumstances!
Now, I would need a credit card with a limit of like 2K+.
However, I don’t have a ‘real’ part or full time job, so I don’t know how I would prove that I make money to pay back my bills.
I also don’t care about interest rate! Since I have a 15% ROI.
Thank you for any information you may have
I get my revenue every 15 days.
I am not going to sued or anything, so there is no reason I need to get incorporated as of now.
Though, I will get something because of the tax breaks.
I am an American who turns 26 this July. I have a BS in Marketing and a MBA in International Business from a university in London, England. I run a small Search Engine Marketing company that does decently. But I’ve reached a point in my life where I just don’t know what I’m doing. I’m not satisfied with what I’m doing or where I am right now and I can’t seem to find motivation for anything lately.
I am in good physical shape and I have always had it in the back of my mind to maybe join the military but never went through with it. Is there anybody that has had a similar experience that could share their thoughts. Also, which branch would be best to enter if I went through with it?
BTW, my family would absolutely freak out.

So, I got 2 job offers both sort of outside my field. I am a project manager that works with clients and builds their websites. One of the offers was in search engine marketing (dealing with clients) and one was managing the development of web sites internally (no dealing with clients). I chose the first one even though there was a 30% cut in pay and still was working with clients. I thought it had the a better long term outlook . I’m starting to regret this decision because of the large decrease in pay and the large number of people that currently do Search Engine Marketing. It seems like everyone and their brother does it. Two questions:
a) How bad is it to ask for a job back after you rejected it? (I rejected it very nicely and they knew the tough decision which I had)
b) Should I even try to get it back and thus turn down my acceptance on the other one?
Thanks you all!
