Looking for good advice, and possibly website/article links about improving my search engine placement and page ranks. I’ve already got descriptive meta tags on all my pages, descriptive alt tags on my images, clean code, and a good site map with text links to all pages on the site.

Anything more I can do? Anyone have some great tomes of knowledge regarding the subject that they could link to?

Anyone know of a place that don’t charge too much to get you top search engine placement. The company that use to host my site use to do it for free and it lasted 2 years. Now they charge 0 a month which is a little too much for me.

I have a site that has done great in the search engine results (top 5 most general term in yahoo, 1st page google) that has had no flash, just basic html and good optimization. I want to add some very basic flash nothing too fancy, will this affect my search engine placement? I guess what I am asking is, do search engines look at flash as a negitive in all or some cases?

I recently purchased a domain from GoDaddy.com. They gave me a call, and told me I wasn’t going to get good search engine placement unless I extended the term on my domain, its currently just a 1 year purchase.

Is this true? Or is that just a sales tactic?

I remember back in the "olden days" of search engine optimization, it was mostly about the keywords in your META tags. Now, that clearly is not enough. I’m curious what I can do to optimizes search engine placement without paying thousands of dollars for someone else to do it for me. What are those people doing to get top placement?
