I have a small business and need to get to the first pages of the search engines… what’s a good way to start for a beginner?
I understand the basic idea of what the cache version of a website is, but what I’m wondering is, does being cached improve my websites placement in search engines? Will my site pop up higher in search engine results versus sites that are not cached?
Also any info on resources to help me learn to cache my google sites website would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I have been thinking that it may be time for me to tell the whole world in great detail all about my fabulous life and my fascinating opinions. I think the world deserves it. So does anyone have a good or a bad experience with any particular blog publisher? I think my main concerns would be 1) good protection against hackers, 2) good placement in search engines, 3) good tech support, 4) good selection of formats to choose from, and 5) relative freedom from censorship. (I mean, I don’t wish to make libelous statements or publish child pornography or advocate the overthrow of the government, but I would like to be able to say Controversial Things and to include Adult Content if I choose to.)

(And I’m not really going to tell them eveything.) And to Derail: I don’t wish to be a big deal. A few thousand fans out of the entire human race would suffice. I made a blog which seems interesting but i don’t have any traffic. I am using feedburner to track my traffic and i have added many things to increase traffic on my blog but it still hasnt worked. i have made a great website www.wholesalehappy.com with a great supplier and i am having trouble finding good places to increase traffic to my site. ive been on looking at youtube for answers and ive been adding my url to search engines etc but i am not getting much traffic. now i know people are going to say add your site to forums and add your site to social networks like facebook etc but does this really work?? i want to know facts like the name of a website i can join and get good results like 30 to 40 hits a day or more. ive added lots of listings to gumtree and im just looking for good ways to get traffic, can someone help me out please and give me the names of good sites where i can get good traffic.

I am planning to redesign my website ( 1100+ Pages) which is doing good on search engines and is getting good traffic. My only concern is if i do that keeping in mind all the link placement and everything. Still can rank fall on google??
I thought one solution for this let me know if that will work –
Will launch new page with same domain name but with different extension say .info and with new title, keywords and description in meta tags plus will modify on page content too except dynamic part of the site. Once that new page is crawled by google will replace old one with new one on main hosting.. Hows it sounding and yes I did lot of optimization for current page..
So please suggest me best possible way of gaining more rank with new page rather thn loosing it
The Google ‘sting’
The experiment by Google was easy – to see if Bing was copying their search results. To do this they injected false results into nonsense queries – queries that no user would normally entered. Then they set up a handful of new machines running Internet Explorer 8, opted in to the recommend websites feature and started running the nonsense queries and clicking on the injected results.
What happened?
Well obviously, this only makes news because the expected happened. Some years later when these same engineers entered the nonsense queries into Bing, these injected search results appeared top of the Bing results. These web sites had been carefully chosen to have no relationship to the results, so somehow the results were copied.
How are they copied?
Well obviously, Bing cannot “test” Google for all potential search results and steal the top result. So they are monitoring visitors and this has been admitted. They are watching the search queries that people are entering and what web sites they are then visiting and how long they are staying on these pages.
In fact Bing are using ‘opt in’ data to monitor search engine visitors and it appears that if you are opted in to the tool bar in Internet Explorer, then Bing is watching your searches and what web sites you are visiting.
And what about Google?
I have long since suspected that Google does the same sort of trick and this is the just reason why the PageRank Toolbar is still half maintained and why they provide Feedburner and Analytics for free. What better way is there for a search engine to provide accurate results to its traffic than by promoting those results that previous traffic have found most useful?
Is this a way to ‘fake’ results?
Of course, finding that visitors is without doubt part of the results means that people could now attack the results method to see if they can promote their own sites. However, whilst this might be possible for low visitors queries, the effort required for high volume visitors is much more.
If your preferred search term already has just 100 searches every day, then to make a statistical difference to the search engines you would need a good number of machines and each one used for the relevant term every day. However, I might see a future where instead of link spamming, people are paid to run search results every day. The next best thing I suppose is traffic from relevant themed pages. So bloggers be ready – if you have genuine readers and can provide clicks from your weblog, then people may be even more willing to pay for posts on your site. It might have the same effect.
