I am looking for the general meta tag formats that a site should have to increase optimization for the purpose of ensuring a high ranking in the search engines thus getting free website traffic.
I have a website: http://www.webauctionsdaily.com that sells templates, websites, domains and software. I have a plan to buy another domain name with high PR and use it to open the same website http://www.webauctionsdaily.com, just with the aim of increasing traffic. Can someone tell me if this can be done, and whether it is allowed by search engines?
Thanks
The name of my website is Webauctions Daily or simply Web Auctions Daily.
Do you have your own website or blog and have you tried exchangeing links with others. This is a good way of increasing traffic on your site. Why dont you join groups which exchange links.I have created three groups today for helping people in link exchange. The more no of links you exchange the more traffic you get as people who exchange links with you keep visiting your site to chek if their link is still there or not.Wont that increase traffic on your site and that will list your site in search engines. There are no members at present but please join the group because i know that the members will soon increase. Here are the links

If you dont have your blog then you can pass on these links to your friends to help them.

I think I finally figured out what it takes to get more traffic-real traffic!!
You need a page on your site dedicated to your fellow website owners. It’s that simple.
People who do this make a lot on money. It’s an awesome way to get more traffic.
Google and Yahoo notice if you are participating in friendly conduct. This includes sharing links. Getting kicked off or shut down isn’t as hard as you think. Just take a look at some forum/blog notes about people who have been shut down for no apparent reason. If these huge search engines have to make room on their system, you are a sitting duck if you aren’t playing NICE. Think about it-if they drop you because all you are is a single site with nothing more than ads and something to sell, they’ve lost nothing by closing you down-someone else will replace you in a heartbeat. BUT, if you have other links and referrals on your site, dropping you will cause a domino effect which could cost them a lot of money. So, they’ll pass.
That being said, would you like to exchange links?
I have a special page on my website just for you! It doesn’t matter if your website isn’t related. People who are looking have different interests. You may be what they need next.
I’ll write a nice blurb and add your site address. (In exchange for the same, of course) It’s FREE Advertising, and who couldn’t use a little of that? Please let me know if you would like to be listed. My Site: www.a-secret-to-share.com If you visit, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Email me: lynnmiller4158@hotmail.com and let me know. When you respond, please include your URL so I can take a look at your site. I’ll email you when I’ve posted your info on my site and give you a couple of days to return the favor. Fair? Good. Now let’s get this party started and make some real money!
This year I started a computer repair business, and I’m currently working my business full time, but I need to get more customers in order to be viable as a business.
All of my customers have been very happy with the service I’ve provided, and several have been repeat customers, but I’m having a hard time getting new customers.
Currently I’m doing advertising online with superpages/yellowpages and pay per click with the big search engines. I’m also getting in the local yellow pages, but I need to wait a couple of months until the new directory comes out. I’ve also started a facebook fan page, a twitter page, and a blog with articles I hope are helpful for my customer base.
I don’t have a lot of cash to invest, but I have time. What do you think I should do to get the word out?
My business is specialhomeproducts.com. I am getting a pretty good number of visitors, but not very many sales yet. Site has been up since August. I know it takes awhile for the search engines to really pick up your keywords, metatags, etc., but want to get this moving as quickly as possible. Any help given would be much appreciated. I am disabled, and am trying to supplement my disability income with this part-time at home business…as so many hopefuls try and many fail…I don’t want to be one of those statistics that fail!! I REALLY need this extra income….anyone out there on disability will understand what I mean by that!! Plus, I need this at home work to keep myself going, and not to get depressed all the time. Thanks for your input.
Getting some great ideas from you all….thank you so much. Imisidro….I especially appreciate your comments…unfortunately, I am pretty much "locked in" to the website format I have, due to the hosting company who partners with my supplier…they will only allow me to show a MAXIMUM of 8 products on my homepage. Wish I could show more and had more flexibility with the look of the site, but they won’t allow it….have considered starting over and having someone else build another site with the same products, but that would leave out the advantage I now have with this company, in that they keep track of inventory, what is in stock and out of stock, etc. for me…I don’t have to do any
"cutting and pasting" of the products pictures or descriptions…..so there are
drawbacks and good points at the same time with this company I am working with. I have already been submitting articles to articles sites….(another suggestion made)….started submitting to the press releases today!
And, yes, I know all about the "pay per click" programs like Google AdWords….those are the ones I am avoiding as long as possible….heard some nightmare stories of people who have lost a LOT of money using them…those clicks can add up to a large sum in no time, especially if you don’t have corresponding sales to offset them! And, of course, lately we see lots of ads for "getGoogleAdsfree" and make millions doing it…an ad for a 128 page EBook that supposedly sells you a special "secret" on how to trick Google AdWords so that you end up not paying them anything…yeah, right…..you all give me your take on that one too, please! Google is not likely to let their AdWords program be free, no matter who claims they have a "secret" in getting around the costs of it….don’t you agree?
Where better to ask this question then in the baby naming section of Yahoo Answers?…
I will soon be opening an online baby boutique (the ten year plan is to make it into an actual store) and I need some help coming up with a name :)
My boutique will carry items such as hair bows/hair bands for little girls & babies, tutu’s, and petti skirts. I hope in the future to be able to market to little boys as well.
The name doesn’t have to really explain what the store is because I plan on having a tag line in which search engines would be able to find my website easily. (Tag lines such as, "A unique children’s boutique" … but not that one of course as it is sort of generic lol)
I have come up with a select few names for my future baby boutique (& the domain names are available)
Cotton Candy Lane
Sunday Lane
The Periwinkle Piggy
Pink Sherbet
Timeless Tuesday’s
Tickle Me Tuesday’s
Does anyone have any favorites from my list?
Also, I have a list of what I think are cute words. Can anyone please add to my list of words or come up with a boutique name with the words I have chosen?
Aliens
Banana
Brownie
Cotton Candy
Cow
Froggies
Frostbite
Fusion
Fuzzy
Halo
Hippo
Inchworm
Lady Bugs
Lane
Licorice
Lizards
Lollipops
Majesty

Moon Beam

Pixie
Robin’s Egg

Let’s say my name is Got Answers, and I’m in the chair selling business. I want as much organic SEO traffic as possible, in addition to my PPC traffic. I meet a lot of people around town, and of course, I have friends I’ve known a long time. My business card says gotanswers(dot)com on it b/c that’s my name and how they know me. On the other hand, people I don’t know who might be searching the web, might be more inclined to click on a link that says chairsalesman(dot)com and maybe even if I live in Boise Idaho I might want one that says chairsalesmanboise(dot)com . I have the same webpage I just want to upload it to several different domains to increase exposure and marketing. I’ve been reading Google Webmaster topics and can’t decide if this will help, hurt, or have no impact on my organic results.
What do you think? I figure it will at worst have no impact, I’m not really trying to trick the search engines, I’m just trying to make myself marketable to people I know, people I just met, people I’ve never met, etc.. and various urls might play better with different people..
So I got this cool idea for selling products to a niche market. However, I don’t know the first thing about website design, HTML, domain names, blah, blah, blah… and I don’t want to pay a web-designer. I want to do this cheap, not necessarily free, but cheap. What is the best site to help me build my page, that will get me into the big 3 (search engines) and get me noticed, so I can sell, sell, sell? I’ve been looking at this "buildyoursite.com" and they look pretty user friendly, but I have no clue if it’s what I should use… Please, let me know what you think…. Thanks in advance!
OK So a startup company which I have been doing some freelance work for (I’m a designer) have offered me a 2% share in their company in exchange for occasional work. This startup company is basically a website which sells computer peripherals, much like Misco and Dabs etc. This 2% (non liable) will pay a yearly dividend at the end of every tax year.
In exchange I think they are looking for me to create the occasional banner advertisement and generate a weekly HTML email (Not much work once you have the basic template designed) and to consult them about improvements to the site including rankings, search engines , anything for promotion etc…
I’m wondering what business heads advice to me would be, I’m thinking it’s a good idea although I could end up losing out on time if it doesn’t take off. Looking at the profits of Misco and Dabs etc though there is a big market for what they are doing!
They’re coming back to me with a full proposal about the work they want me to do this week, and I said I’d get some advice first, so if anyone’s got any pearls of wisdom, do tell! :)
Cheers
My husband and I pretty much decided last Friday we’d start casually looking at homes to buy (first timers). Housing prices are not only bottomed out in our area, but interest rates are insanely low as well which is a rare pair. I have excellent credit, we have a small down payment, we love this area-The stars seem to be aligning.
Anyway, we went to an open house Sunday afternoon and instantly fell in love. This house is perfect for our little family-Great commute, great neighborhood, big backyard, huge patio, a workshop for handy hubs. It’s beyond amazing and at a DARN good price (been on the market for 6 mo and already dropped 15k). Things started moving quickly from there and a mortgage company that specializes in government/VA (we’re military) loans drew up a pre-qualification letter for us. Upon giving the lender our info a past demon came up in my husband’s credit history that I was unaware of.
I knew he had a few fiascos, but he’s done very well in my past five years, since meeting me! : ) What I didn’t know was that he co-signed for a later repossessed Honda. I vaguely knew about something that occurred with a car, but this was back in 2004 (he thought it was 2003) and assumed all was well again.
We now how to explain this. It’s the only thing holding us back. Any suggestions on how he should explain the situation? I believe the repo was voluntary. It is SO old, but I know, it’s still a black mark. We also snagged the bottom of the barrel interest rate in our pre-approval letter, so that will probably go out the window if they don’t decide to say: "No go!" Am I correct?
I’m desperately seeking advice, help, anything. None of my friends have ever faced this, nor have I found anything in any search engines or websites referencing this particular situation. Any lenders in the house? Please!!!
Thank you! : )
Note: I spoke with the lender over the phone while he was doing the credit report and because I didn’t know the details of the matter, I informed him that I’d get back to him and he sent the pre-approval guarding it was in error or unless it was explainable.
I just discovered after lots of searching, that the most recent activity on this account occurred in 01/2006. However, the listing in his credit report is not entirely accurate. First of all, it only reads "joint" but does not include the name of the person he was co-signed to. It also does not reflect the fact that the car was sold at auction and apparently it was. He offered an explanation that he was the co-signer and unaware that payments weren’t being made per Experian.
I don’t necessarily want to negotiate with an evil collections company, but we’d certainly consider paying 25-50% of the auction balance…IF they agreed to take it OFF or change the status to paid as agreed in writing.
Hello,
I was wondering what type of equipment you need to snowboard? I have tried doing a search in several search engines, and all I get is locations selling stuff. Nothing really as far as a guide to tell me what type of equipment I would need to go snowboarding.
Does anyone know what ALL basic necessary equipment I would need to have/purchase if I wanted to go snowboarding…say in a couple of months? I am talking the minimum, necessary items I would need. I’m not looking to buy every flashy snowboarding item out there on the market and every extra, spiffy gizmo I can get.
Thank you for any help you can give! :-) It would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Lee
Hi there. I’m not very savvy with website designing and stuff like that. My brother made a website for an overseas market and since his website was just up two months ago it’s not seeing much traffic right now. However, the designer charges .00 for website maintenace fee which I think its outrighteous for something that he doesn’t work for! Also, is there any way we can promote the website? All we’ve done so far was to put it up on some search engines. (it’s a online vitamin shop). Thanks in advance
I have windows 7 and my Firefox has been invaded with bing, and I go to add-ons and there is bing and a search helper. I disable them, but i find no way to remove/uninstall this unwanted infection.
I read in the news that bing continues to grab market share, well no doubt, it is a forced download infection, bing is not increasing its market share… I did not have Bing in any of the web browsers search engines, I do not use Live, I do not use Microsoft for the web, I use Google Chrome, and Firefox.
I do not have Bing toolbar listed in my programs to remove, how do i get rid of this infection. Maybe the best way is to junk this computer and buy a Linux computer from Dell, or a new Mac. I am just about had it with Microsoft’s heavy hand spying and continued story telling to the press an investors.
