I’m a shareware author. I wrote some utility softwares and created a website to introduce them.
I thought they may be helpful for some people.
But my website gets very little traffic. Is there any efficient way to increase the traffic?

Here is my website: http://www.lifesniffer.com
Please give some advises how I can improve my website. Thank you!

I need to ask you something about SEO (Search engine optimization) . What is SEO ? . And how it really helps us to increase traffic on our website. Will it be useful to invest on some of the seo techniques for my blog ?

Hi. I have heard of smaller websites partnering with Larger more successful websites. The smaller website using "templates" from the Larger website, to offer more products to increase sales traffic etc.
can anyone provide some feedback on what this relationship is called and how to start this process?

Okay, so I made a web page about getting free stuff called http://www.freefreestuff.webs.com at webs.com, a free hosting service. Now I wish to get more traffic, but seemed to hit a wall. I have a sitemap and a linking facebook page. I did automated backlinking at http://www.imtalk.org. Tried to get google bots to run around my page but have not seen them in the "visitors" stats. Page is about 200 days old as I write this. Is my traffic low because its a free web page? or maybe webs.com does not support being backlinked to? Or am I simply missing an obvious step that may turn the tides? Any answers would be helpful.

Hi, this is only my second post but I’ve been reading this forum for over a year now.

I noticed every other post people suggest to build links to get better SERPs, and being the type of people that go to forums and desperately ask for help, it’s logical to assume many go on spastic periods of link buying.

But is this really required?

I have 9 websites on my network (no names will be mentioned, sorry) all of them were built from scratch without any backlink from anyone, just content, content, content, and of course server stability and ‘ageing’.

They all get good traffic in a very competitive niche now, with the smallest getting 27k people per day (and for those who still value the PageRank the highest of them is 3 and most are 0).

I know this won’t work for everyone, and every example as an anti example in the word of SEO, but seriously people get a grip and stop being obsessed with buying links and initiating in link exchanges, just focus on your website and your visitors (and Googlebot of course ) and the results will come.

I know many won’t believe this but I am speaking from years and years of trial and error (which translates to penalties, bans and all kinds of things you don’t wanna see) link building is really not that important as long as Googlebot can find your content just fine.

So go out there, submit your XMLs and update your site as much as possible, and you’ll do OK without backlinks.

Google Webmaster Tools shows I have a very small amount of backlinks even after years, because I admit my content isn’t the best around in the niche, but hey! at least Google likes it, so basically I’ve minimal amount of links but lots of sitemap submitting (Which will keep the bot at your pages 24/7).

So If you’re about to get involved in all type of link buying / trading etc.. read and think carefully before you do, I’e done it in the past in some of my older sites, and the it really didn’t to affect anything,. In fact, there’s an increased chance you will get penalized for it, and if not an even greater chance that your SEO success will be based on a ‘bubble’ of links instead of natural Goolgle ‘Love’…

Hope this helps someone save 200$.

Fairly new website and lookign to increase traffic. So want to experiment with a popunder campaign that opens the site in the category ‘cosmetics’ or ‘beauty’. It looks like there are a number of low quality or questionable resellers, and others that won’t diffentiate to a category. There must be an industry leader?

Hi! I am desperate! I need this fixed ASAP!

Situation:

i own a an auction website…this is a penny acution, in this website there are on auction hot items such as iPhones, iMacs, TVs, videogames etc…this is how it works…Users buy a bunch of bids, they cost 50 cents each, and every time that a bid is placed, the price of the item increases of 1 cent and adds 10 seconds to the end of the auction, the items have NO minimum price…

Problem:

….Everything was running well till yesterday, since yesterday the script started acting up…it will make the auction end as soon as an user reaches about 200 bids placed, using the bidbutler or not! NO MATTER WHAT! I Even if there are other users still bidding! This means selling products at prices that do not even reach what i pay for them ! I REALLY REALL REALLY REALLY need this to be fixed asap! Yesterday i sold an iPhone for , an iMac for and a Sony Bravia 52" for !!! And i don’t even want to mention the other items! I have to ship these items and i cannot take the website down or claim "technical issues" because it’ll mean BAD REVIEWS, so losing customers and business, and i am VERY precise about my business! And the night is coming, the users will reach that target quicker, because of the low traffic!

I lost over 4K between last night and today giving away all these items for such a low prices!

My point is that everywhere i go, for example getafreelancer.com, i get tons of people that want to fix it for me, but they ask money upfront and then who knows if they’ll even touch the script? Is there any guarantee i can get before to give my ftp informations to a stranger?I really need to get this fixed asap!

If anyone of you want to take a look at the website and think that might be able to fix this for me, this is the website myluckybids.com
i need guarantees and won’t pay upfront…
answer 1: ALL freelancers will ask for payment OUT of GAF…Most likely western union….and all also ask an upfront payment to start to work…so i will eventually lose money and ftp informations under high risk…
answer2:
yes….you were right if i have changed something….

I’m just looking for something cheap initially so i have a splash page up announcing a forthcoming opening of a business. So i secure the domain i want and to have something in place for when the real website comes into play.. there will be very little to no traffic for around 3 months and then i expect around 10,000 users a month and increasing month on month from that point.

HD space is minimal at this stage a few GB should do.

Who/what deal should i turn to meet my requirements?
i also want to buy an .ie domain godaddy.com doesnt seem to offer that option? does that mean i’d have to buy the registration elsehwhere and transfer it? is that easy to do?

On many forums and websites if I would post a link of my website will delete my post or they going to ban me. My website is based on flash games and I’m trying to get popularity on my website and more visitors. I have barely visitors sometimes 0 a day. I’m trying to get my website to be ranked higher so can you please give me some tips and some good sites which would allow me to get backlinks? Thanks!
