Seriously, if you only take one piece of advice from this, make sure it’s this one.
If you are NOT an Expert in PPC then DO NOT DO IT. You will loose your shirt for no results. If you need PPC then there are plenty of ‘experts’ online who can create and run a promotion campaign for you. You can then specify your costs and results and know your budget. I speak not only from personal experience but from all the good information you will find. Newbies to PPC just profit Google.
You don’t say what your website is which is a shame because you could get get much better advice if we knew what it was exactly.
Depending on profitability of your site/product will decide what you need to do. If youn want to use any kind of paid tarffic generation then the first thing you need to assess is your ROI (return on investment). I.e you need to pay less for your advertising than you make in profit. Sounds simple but trust me this is where most people fail and end up seriously out of pocket.
If you have a low profit margin then SEO (natural search) traffic may be your only option. Yes it takes a bit longer to get your traffic but when done properly it doesn’t take that long and it can be sustainable for years.
If you want to geenrate some free quick traffic then there is a great ebook on using the latest web 2.0 techniques ( latest buz stuff) which you can use to generate highly targeted traffic. Targeted traffic is the key, along with commercial intent.
Fact is no-one just bangs up a website, no matter how pretty, and makes money. You’ve made the first step but now you need to do a bit of work on perfecting it to make it profitable. That’s down to driving traffic to your site, testing to ensure targeted traffic with buying intent, improve conversion rate’s (visitors to buyers ratio)

Rebuild your website using Site Build it, gain free targeted traffic, by creating Keyword Focused Content Pages. When I did this my traffic went through the roof, if you name your subject links with the phrases people are typing into Google, then your going to get a lot of traffic, but like any good trade, you need the tools, PPc should be used to suplement your marketing, not as a main technique, use the engines for people to find you, thats what they are there for , find high demand low supply generating keywords then use them as subjects. I think SEO is the best way to increase the traffic to the site , You just have to follow some SEO techniques which may help you. Just see below
PPC will get you traffic but it costs and if you are not making more money than you spend on PPC you will slowly lose all your money.
SEO makes more sense in the long term.
