Quick Solution:
I noticed that while the website is not very popular, you can get away with a very simple way of taking care of the spammer problem. Most spammer scripts are not very intelligent, so asking for an answer to a simple math question should solve the problem (like: enter what’s 1 + 5 into this input field before you can proceed). You can write this script using Javscript and PHP, it’s very simple even if you don’t know these languages.
