Will flash effect my search engine placement?
I have a site that has done great in the search engine results (top 5 most general term in yahoo, 1st page google) that has had no flash, just basic html and good optimization. I want to add some very basic flash nothing too fancy, will this affect my search engine placement? I guess what I am asking is, do search engines look at flash as a negitive in all or some cases?

No, but it might AFFECT it.
Search engines typically will base their results on the text/html on a page, not flash, pictures, etc.
Engines don’t look at flash at all.
Unless your site is 100% flash you shouldn’t have a problem.

google, yahoo etc all getting smarter ;)
basic flash elements will not effect your ranking at all
Don’t use a flash menu and don’t put text in flash. Use Flash banners and you’ll be fine
Go for it – we have developed several site for clients with some flash and these sites are highly ranked for the important keywords as well. Just make sure that you have some text available for the search engines to read.
